    N (pl ombudsmen) ≈ defensor m del pueblo OMBUDSMAN Se conoce con el nombre de ombudsman al funcionario encargado de investigar las quejas de los ciudadanos contra una institución determinada. En el Reino Unido, el ombudsman que se ocupa de los casos de administración fraudulenta en los ministerios del gobierno, el NHS y otros organismos institucionales es el Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration. Su jurisdicción se limita al área administrativa del gobierno, pero no afecta a su política o legislación.
